Redshirt freshman Patrick DeMarco (Encino, Calif) pitched 0.2 innings and did not allow a run on one hit, while striking out two.

The Bobcats took the lead early in the bottom of the first inning on a Minzey solo homerun giving Ohio the 1-0 lead after one full inning. Ohio added on immediately in the bottom of the second inning when Sturek homered to lead off the inning, increasing Ohio's lead to 2-0 going into the third inning.

Central Michigan responded in the top of the third inning, taking the lead after scoring four runs on two hits that included a two-RBI double, putting CMU up 4-2 going to the bottom of the frame. However, the Bobcats reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the third inning. After Adams started the inning with a single and Rausch drew a walk, a sacrifice fly from Minzey started Ohio's scoring. The Bobcats added on with an RBI single from Patino and an RBI double from Antle, putting the Bobcats up 5-4 after three.

After a scoreless fourth, CMU went ahead in the top of the fifth inning, once again scoring four runs on three hits thanks to a two-run homerun and an RBI double, putting Central Michigan up 8-5. Ohio got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Kasperbauer scored on a wild pitch, cutting the Ohio deficit to 8-6 after five.

CMU added on in the top of the sixth inning, scoring two runs on three hits to give Central Michigan a 10-6 lead. The Bobcats threatened in the bottom of the eighth when junior Cole Williams (Charlotte, N.C.) reached on an error and Finney followed that up with a single to put runners on first and second with no outs. However, the Bobcats were unable to capitalize, sending the game to the ninth inning still trailing, 10-6.

After CMU stranded two runners on in the top of the ninth, Ohio looked to rally in the bottom of the frame, however the Bobcats were unable to generate much offense, ultimately falling, 10-6.
