BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team wrapped up the 2023 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships inside Perry Field House on Saturday (Feb. 25).
Junior Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) started off day two for the Bobcats in the triple jump, jumping 11.39m.
In the mile finals, fifth years Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) and Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) secured their spots on the podium, finishing fourth and eighth. Pierce ran a 4:58.09, while Bartolone clocked a 4:59.08.
Meanwhile in the field events, sophomore Michaela Frey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) recorded a new PR in the pole vault. Frey earned her podium finish with a vault of 3.36m.
Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) and Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) represented Ohio in the shot put, throwing a 12.53m and 11.99m, while Imani Brown (Crown Point, Ind.) cleared 1.55m in the high jump.
In the 3000m, freshman Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) grabbed her second podium finish of the weekend. Mason placed sixth overall with a huge PR of 9:38.81. Sophomore Theresa Hagey (Akron, Ohio) and freshman Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) finished fourth and fifth in their heat, clocking times of 9:55.95 and 9:58.12. Harris had a PR as well, knocking off over six seconds.
The 4x400m team of graduate student Larissa Manciaz (Eagle Lake, Texas), Brown, redshirt senior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.), and Pierce concluded the meet with their own podium finish. The team was just edged out of first place in their heat with a time of 3:57.15.
