Cross Country Heads to NCAA Regional Championships

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's and women's cross country program continue postseason competition at the NCAA DI Great Lake Regional Championships hosted by Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 10. The women's 6k race is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. ET, while the men's 10k is set to start at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The top two teams from each regional meet and 13 at-large team selections will compete at nationals. Individual qualifications will include 36 auto qualifiers and two at-large bids. The top two teams in each regional championship secure automatic bids. The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships. The top 25 finishers from each race will be awarded All-Region honors.

In the most recent regional poll, Wisconsin ranks first for the men and Notre Dame ranks first for the women. The Ohio women's team sits at eighth in the women's rankings. The men's and women's regional rankings include six other teams from the MAC, not including Ohio.

The Bobcats will face off with five programs that have earned spots on the national coaches' poll including No. 5/23 Wisconsin (Men/Women), No. 12 Butler (Men), No. 17/9 Notre Dame (Men/Women), No. 25 Michigan (Men), No. 14 Michigan State (Women).
