ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's basketball team welcome two signees, Gigi Bower and Danni Scully, as announced by head coach Bob Boldon on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
 
"We are very fortunate to add two wonderful women to our program in Gigi Bower and Danni Scully," Boldon said. "We were able to identify them as potential prospects several years ago and it has been a joy to watch them grow and go through the recruiting with them. They both have incredible families that have supported their drive to be a Division I basketball player. We are very excited to add them to our team."
 
Gigi Bower (Powell, Ohio)
 
Bower joins the Bobcats from Powell, Ohio where she attends Olentangy Liberty and is a four-year letterwinner for basketball. She has been named Second Team All-State, First Team All-OCC, OCC Central Player of the Year, First Team All-District 11, First Team All-Delaware County, Delaware County Player of the Year and SBC Live All Star. In the 2022-23 season, Bower set the record for the most three pointers in a season and helped her team to an OCC Championships title.
 
In her freshman season, she recorded nine PPG, 41 assists, 67 rebounds, 48 steals and eight blocks. As a sophomore, Bower totaled 12.1 PPG, 39 assists, 69 rebounds, 51 steals and 18 blocks. In her most recent season, she tallied 15.6 PPG, 41 assists, 95 rebounds, 53 steals and 14 blocks.
 
"Gigi is a prolific shooter that has the competitive spirit necessary to be successful at the Division I level," Bolden said about Bower.
 
Bower is the daughter of Todd and Kelly and has two older brothers, Jacob and Chase. She has several family members who have participated in athletics at Ohio including her father (basketball), uncles Chris (football) and Dave (football), cousins Mac (football) and Olivia (basketball) and aunt Kathy (basketball). Bower intends to major in Animal Science.
 
Danni Scully (Park Ridge, Ill.)
 
Scully joins the Bobcats from Park Ridge, Ill. where she attends Nazareth Academy and is a four-year letterwinner for basketball and three-year letterwinner for lacrosse. The current team captain is a two-time All-Conference, Montini Christmas First Team All-Tournament selection and was named an All-State Honorable Mention last season. In 2023, Scully received the MVP Award in the state semi-final game. She helped her team to a 2022 State Runner Up finish and a 2023 State Championship title.
 
"Dani is a great shooter. Her toughness and athletic ability allow her to score around the rim and makes her a tremendous rebounder," Bolden said about Scully.

Scully is the daughter of Tim and Diane and has an older brother, Sam. Her father played football from 1986-90 and brother currently plays golf at Coe College. Scully intends to major in Education.
