Athens, Ohio – The fall sports are hitting the home stretch with field hockey Senior Day on tap for this weekend and a 'Battle of the Bricks' on the road for soccer and volleyball as the Bobcats push for the postseason. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.

The Ohio football team (5-2, 2-1 MAC) returns to Athens on Saturday, Oct. 21 to take on MAC West opponent Western Michigan (2-5, 1-2 MAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium and can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
The Bobcats defeated Western Michigan, 33-14 last season on the road.
Saturday will be Military Appreciation day with a halftime swearing-in ceremony and will be the PINK game and Morgan's Message game.
MEN'S GOLF

The Ohio men's golf team returns to action Oct. 16-17 for the 2023 Elon Phoenix Invitational. The two-day event that is hosted by Elon takes place in Burlington, N.C. at the 6871-yard Alamance Country Club.Par is set at 71. The event begins on Monday, Oct. 16 with two rounds, before concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 17 with 18 holes.
Teams competing at this year's event are; Elon, Presbyterian College, George Washington, Western Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Old Dominion, Longwood, Temple, App State, Radford, Dartmouth, Queens and NC A&T.

Ohio soccer (4-6-5, 2-3-3 MAC) is back in action this weekend for two more MAC matchups starting Thursday, Oct. 19 when Ohio heads to Miami (5-10-1, 2-6-0 MAC) for the 'Battle of the Bricks.' First touch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Bobby Kramig Field. The Bobcats return to Athens on Sunday, Oct. 22 to take on Eastern Michigan (1-9-6, 1-5-2 MAC). First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
Ohio is coming off an unbeaten weekend where the Bobcats scored with 34 seconds left to tie Central Michigan at home and tied MAC-leading Ball State, 2-2, Sunday afternoon.

The Ohio volleyball team (10-11, 5-4 MAC) hits the road this weekend for their own 'Battle of the Bricks' matchup with Miami (5-15, 1-7 MAC). The weekend begins on Friday, Oct. 20 when the Bobcats and RedHawks take the court at 7 p.m. inside Millett Hall. The weekend concludes on Saturday, Oct. 21 with Miami. Game time is TBD.
Ohio is coming off a 1-1 weekend, splitting the season series against Bowling Green last weekend in Athens.
SWIM AND DIVE

After a successful opening weekend against Illinois State, the Ohio swimming and diving teams hits the road to Baltimore, Md. on Friday, Oct. 20 to take on UMBC. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the UMBC Aquatic Complex.
Ohio is coming off a 216-82 victory over Illinois State, that saw a number of personal bests and collegiate debuts for the Bobcats.
