ATHENS, Ohio—The Ohio wrestling team (3-6, 3-1 MAC) defeated the Cleveland State Vikings (3-6, 2-3 MAC) at the Convocation Center Sunday afternoon (Jan. 22), 27-18. 
 
Redshirt junior Oscar Sanchez (Genoa, Ohio) opened the match with a 4-1 decision at 125 pounds. After a medical forfeit secured graduate student Kyran Hagan's (Eureka, Mo.) win at 141 pounds, graduate student Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) quickly pinned his opponent at 149 pounds. 
 
The Bobcats continued to dominate—at 165 pounds, redshirt junior Jordan Slivka (Indianapolis, Ind.) won by technical fall, followed by redshirt freshman Garrett Thompson (Murrysville, Pa.) winning with a 9-1 major decision at 174 pounds. Sophomore Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) wrapped up with a 3-1 decision at 184 pounds.
 
Up next, the Bobcats return to action on Sunday, Jan. 29 when they host Central Michigan at 1 p.m. The match can be viewed on ESPN+.
