YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team competed at the YSU Collegiate Invitational today (Jan. 20) inside inside Watson and Tressel Training Site.
In the mile, freshman Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) ran a 4:59.88 to secure second, topping last week's performance of 4:59.90. Fifth year Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) and sophomore Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) where right on Mason's heels, taking third and fourth with times of 5:00.60 and 5:00.79.
Graduate student Larissa Manciaz (Eagle Lake, Texas) took fourth in the 400m, clocking a 57.94. In the 800m, fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) ran a 2:15.80 for second while senior Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) finished fourth in 2:19.39.
In the field events, fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 12.78m. Sophomore Michaela Frey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) placed second in the unseeded pole vault with a vault of 3.35m.
Freshman Josie Knierim (McConnelsville, Ohio) and fifth year Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.) competed in the 200m taking sixth and eighth. Knierim ran a 25.37 while Stephens clocked a 25.51.
Meanwhile, freshman Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) placed seventh in the 3000m with a time of 10:08.90.
A Bobcat 4x400m team wrapped up the meet with a third place finish, clocking a 4:00.97.
Up next, Ohio will travel to Bloomington, Ind. to compete in the IU Relays Jan. 27-28.
