HAMPTON, Va.— The Ohio wrestling team wrapped up day one of the  Virginia Duals. They fell to Virginia, 23-10, and Maryland, 27-13. 
 
Sophomore Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) was undefeated on the day, securing two decisions at 174 pounds.  
 
Redshirt junior Oscar Sanchez (Genoa, Ohio) opened the Bobcats' match against Virginia with a 6-2 decision at 125 pounds. Redshirt freshman Peyten Kellar (Cutler, Ohio) was dominant at 157 pounds, shutting out his opponent for an 11-0 major decision. An 8-2 decision at 174 pounds marked Perrine's first victory of the day.
 
Against Maryland, freshman Mason Brugh (Wadsworth, Ohio) won with a 5-1 decision at 133 pounds. Redshirt junior Jordan Slivka (Indianapolis, Ind.) won by a narrow margin at 165 pounds, defeating his opponent with a 3-0 decision. Perrine came out on top again at 174 pounds, winning with a 5-3 decision, while at 184 pounds, sophomore Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) won with an 8-0 major decision. 
 
The Bobcats return to action tomorrow (Jan. 14) for the second day of the Virginia Duals. They are set to take on Oklahoma and South Dakota State.
