ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's basketball team will add Alabama State(2019-2020) and Edison State College(2020-2022) transfer, Kailah Johnson for the 2022-2023 season. "Kailah is a dynamic guard that plays multiple positions. She scored and distributed the ball very well last year," Head Coach Bob Boldon says. "We had a wonderful visit with her and her mom and are looking forward to having her on campus," he added.

In her last year at Edison State, Johnson appeared in 28 games averaging 21 points and was awarded Academic All-Conference, All-OCCAC first team, World Exposure All American, and OCCAC Player of the year. Johnson also set a record of scoring 589 points in one season (2021-2022) and holding one of the best free throw percentages at 84%.

A native of Holland, Ohio, Johnson is excited to make Athens home as she pursues a bachelors in specialized studies. When Johnson is not on the court she is watching the Golden State Warriors and her favorite athlete, Steph Curry.
