KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Ohio track & field team finishes the 2022 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships with multiple Bobcats on the podium.
In the 1500m, senior
Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) placed sixth with a time of 4:30.29. Pierce was followed by junior
Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) who recorded a time of 4:40.83. Pierce also ran a strong race in the 800m, finishing seventh. Pierce ran a 2:14.11 and was the only athlete to score in both events.
Fifth year
Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and freshman
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) appeared in the 5000m. Bowes clocked a 17:55.67, while Harris recorded a 18:15.48. Meanwhile, sophomore
Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) logged a jump of 11.47m in the triple jump.
Continuing with the field events, four athletes represented Ohio in the discus. Senior
Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) grabbed a podium finish with a throw of 45.87m. Mohan took seventh while senior
Rachel Simpson (Port Clinton, Ohio) took ninth. Simpson threw 45.14m and freshman
Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) and sophomore
Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio) followed with throws of 40.58m and 39.83m.
Graduate student
Taylor Strnad (Brook Park, Ohio) secured one last podium finish for the Bobcats. With a jump of 1.60m, Strnad placed eighth in the MAC for the high jump.
