DADE CITY, Fla. -- The women's golf team continued their spring schedule this week (March 14-15), as they made their way to the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club for the Spring Break Shootout, co-hosted by Western Kentucky and Florida Gulf Coast. As a team, the Bobcats finished in 15th place, with the best individual finish coming courtesy of
Avery Ovens at +20.
The first round, played in the morning of March 14, finished with Ohio sitting in a tie for 12th place as a team, after the Bobcats shot a team score of 304 (+20). Ovens shot the best round in the first 18 holes of competition with a 74 (+3) which placed her in a tie for 24th individually. The second 18 holes of play wrapped up the first day of competition, and the Bobcats shot a 315 (+31) as a team, placing them in 15th place overall. Individually,
Catherine Loftus turned in the top scorecard, shooting a 77 (+6) during the second round.
The third and final round was played on March 15, and saw two Bobcats pace the overall effort. Both
Mariana Vega-Rivera and
Ashley Flynn carded a 77 (+6) to held lead Ohio to their second-best team score in the tournament. The Bobcats rounded out competition with a 313 (+29) team score and a 15th place finish.
Ovens shot a 79 in the third round to finish the event at +20 and in a tie for 60th place to lead the individual efforts for Ohio.

The Bobcats get back on the course in just two weeks, as they travel to Pawley's Island, S.C. to play in the 2022 Golfweek Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate (March 28-30).
