RIO VERDE, A.Z. -- The Ohio women's golf team traveled to Arizona for their second event of their spring schedule this weekend (Feb. 25-27). The Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational was played at White Wing Golf Club and was hosted by Western Michigan. The Bobcats finished with a team score of 973 after the three days of competition, good for 18th place.
Three Bobcats had the low round of the day on Friday, with
Thanya Arasu,
Sydney Longstreth, and
Avery Ovens turning in a scorecard of 82 (+10). As a team, Ohio finished with a score of 330 after the first 18 holes of play.
The second day saw Ohio improve on their team score by six strokes to finish with a 324 on the day, while the best individual round was carded by
Catherine Loftus, who shot a five-over 77.
On the final 18 holes of the event, the Bobcats once again improved on their team score, shooting their best round as a group, a 319. Individually, the best 18 holes came courtesy of Arasu, who turned in a scorecard of 76 (+4).
Arasu was the top performer individually during the weekend, finishing in a tie for 53rd overall at +20.

The women's golf team will next take to the course in the middle of March, when they participate in the Spring Break Shootout, hosted by Western Kentucky, in Dade City, Fla.
