RICHMOND, Ky.—The Ohio baseball team (1-4) dropped their second game against Eastern Kentucky (3-3) in the ninth inning, 7-6.
Individually, senior
Mason Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) went 1-for-3 with one run scored, two RBIs and two walks. Redshirt freshman
AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) was 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored while redshirt freshman
Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and redshirt junior
Xavier Haendiges (Salem, Ind.) both went 2-for-4.
An RBI double from Minzey drove in two runs for the Bobcats in the top of the first. Eastern Kentucky struck in the bottom of the inning, scoring one run off a fly out to center field.
The score remained 2-1 until the sixth inning; Rausch tripled down the left field line, driving in Dolan. He easily scored when Haendiges singled the next at bat, giving Ohio a 4-1 lead. The Colonels tied the game in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs off two singles.
Minzey reclaimed Ohio's lead in the seventh, advancing on two wild pitches to score the Bobcats' fifth run. Before the end of the inning, Rausch bunted, allowing redshirt senior
Spencer Harbert (Middletown, Del.) to score. Eastern Kentucky answered quickly, scoring two runs off a single to tie the game, 6-6. In the bottom of the ninth, Eastern Kentucky scored the game winning run off an RBI single, defeating the Bobcats 7-6.
On the mound, redshirt senior
Jack Liberatore (Greensburg, Pa.) got the start, throwing 71 pitches in 5.2 innings with three strikeouts. Fifth year
Brett Manis (Port Huron, Mich.) closed the game, giving up three hits while striking out four.

The Bobcats return to action for their third and final game against Eastern Kentucky tomorrow (Feb. 27) at 1 p.m.
