BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team wrapped up day three at the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Bowling Green. After day three, the Bobcats sit in fifth place with 243 points.
The Bobcats opened the evening finals with the 100 fly 'A' final, where sophomore
Gabrielle Brust (Granville, Ohio) placed sixth with a time of 53.70. In the 'B' final, junior
Kendra Sheehan (Columbus, Ohio) finished fourth, and 12
th overall, with a time of 54.70.
In the 400 IM 'A' final, sophomore
Morgan Croaning (Carmel, Ind.) finished in seventh place, touching in at 4:23.60. In the event 'B' final, junior
Madeline Marks (Bentonville, Ark.) placed sixth, 14
th overall, with a time of 4:27.54.
Junior
Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) finished sixth in the 200 free 'A' final, touching in with a time of 1:49.05. Meanwhile, graduate student
Athena Aravantinou (North Bethesda, Md.) finished the 'B' final in sixth, 14
thoverall, with a time of 1:51.25. Sophomore
Caroline Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa.) finished the 'B' final in eighth, 16
th overall, touching in with a time of 1:52.39.
Freshman
Edie Sawyer (Cranberry Township, Pa.) finished in eighth place in the 100 breaststroke 'A' finale with a time of 1:02.34, while freshmen
Julia Strine (Shippensburg, Pa.) finished the 'B' final in fifth place, 13
thoverall, with a time of 1:03.81.
In the 100 back, sophomore
Riley Bunstine (Alexandria, Ohio) finished the 'B' final in eighth place, 16
th overall, touching in at 56 seconds flat.
In the 400 medley relay, the Bobcats placed fifth with a time of 3:42.90.
Up next, the Bobcats wrap up competition at the 2022 MAC Championships. Prelims are set to start at 10:30 a.m., with finals scheduled to start at 6:40 p.m. The evening finals will be streamed on ESPN+.
