LAS VEGAS— Highlighted by graduate student
Alec Hagan's sixth place finish at 149 pounds, the Ohio wrestling team competed in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Wrestling Invitational this weekend (Dec. 2-3). The Bobcats finished with 20 points.
Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) started the tournament seeded eighth. He pinned his first opponent, moving on to defeat Kent State's Kody Komara by a narrow 3-2 decision. He met Sammy Sasso (Ohio State) in the quarterfinals, falling at 2:51. Sasso is currently ranked third on InterMat.
In the fifth place match, the graduate student lost in a 5-2 decision, placing sixth in the 149-pound bracket.
Up next, the Bobcats open Mid-American Conference duals at Edinboro on Saturday, Dec. 10. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
