TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio volleyball team (16-9, 10-4 MAC) fell to Toledo (16-9, 9-5 MAC) in three sets (19-25, 17-25, 11-25) on Friday (Nov. 4) inside the John F. Savage Arena.
Ohio was outhit by Toledo, hindered by forced errors. The Rockets led the Bobcats in most categories with the exception of digs, where the teams tied with 49 apiece. Despite 10 ties and four lead changes throughout the match, Ohio was unable to capture a set.
Graduate student outside hitter Kristy Frank (Kyiv, Ukraine) led Ohio's offense with nine kills. Junior middle blocker Elizabeth Hoerlein (Mason, Ohio) followed with seven. Setters Parker Kwaitkowski (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Tria McLean (Battle Creek, Neb.) each tallied eight assists. Additionally, Kwaitkowski led Ohio in digs, achieving a double-double with 11. Junior liberos/defensive specialists Sam Steele (Omaha, Neb.) and Maci Watrous (Coppell, Texas) followed with 10 digs each.
The Bobcats will take on Toledo again tomorrow (Nov. 5) at 4 p.m. ET, hoping to even the series 1-1.
