ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (1-1) is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when they head to Detroit, Mich. to take on Detroit Mercy (1-1). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Calihan Hall. The Bobcats matchup will be seen on ESPN+, where Jeremy Otto will be on the call.
The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield. Russ Eisenstein returns for his 15th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats" and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network's flagship.

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
Detroit Mercy centers the matchup with Ohio with a 1-1 after defeating Rochester to open the season, before falling to Boston College, 70-66 last Friday.
As a team, Cleveland State is averaging 79.5 points and 41.0 rebounds a game. The Titans are shooting .441 from the field, .369 from three and .705 from the line. Detroit Mercy also dishes out 13.5 assists per game, while forcing 13.0 turnovers and grabbing 6.0 steals a game.
Meanwhile, opponents are averaging 67.5 points and 33.0 rebounds a contest. They are shooting .417 from the field, .341 from three and .694 from the line. Opponents also dish out an average of 8.0 assists per game, while grabbing 4.5 steals and forcing 11.0 turnovers a game.

Jordan Dartis finished the game with 26 points, going 9-of-15 from the field, 6-of-9 from three-point range and 2-of-3 from the free throw line, while grabbing two rebounds and dishing out an assist. Sophomore guard Jason Preston finished the game with 20 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds. Preston went 6-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Redshirt sophomore forward Ben Vander Plas finished with 16 points, rebounds and four assists, while graduate transfer Sylvester Ogbonda forward finished with 11 points, eight boards and one block, while going 4-of-5 from the field.
As a team, Ohio shot 53 percent from the field, 45 percent from three-point range and 84.6 percent from the free throw line, while Detroit Mercy shot 47.4 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line. Junior guard Jaylin Hunter (Manchester, Conn.) led Ohio with 17 points, four rebounds and seven assists, while going 4-of-7 from three. Senior guard Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) added 14 points and went 6-of-6 from the line, while senior DeVon Baker (Dayton, Ohio) scored 13 points. Graduate student forward Dwight Wilson III (Tallahassee, Fla.) led with a game-high 14 rebounds and freshman guard Elmore James (Cleveland, Ohio) added eight points for the Bobcats.
As a team, Ohio shot 52 percent from the field, 55 percent from three and were 17-of-19 from the line, while Cleveland State shot 45 percent from the field, 38 percent from three and were 14-of-24 from the line. Both teams pulled down 32 rebounds, while Ohio dished out eight assists and forced 13 turnovers, scoring 19 points off them. CSU dished out 14 assists and had seven steals, while forcing 13 turnovers.
For CSU, the Vikings were led by Yahel Hill with 20 points, followed by Tae Williams with 12. Deante Johnson added 11 points and eight rebounds.
HUNTER FINDING A GROOVE
In his second game for the Bobcats, junior guard Jaylin Hunter started to find his groove in the Green and White.
Hunter led Ohio against Cleveland State, scoring 17 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out seven assists in the victory.
STILL SETTING NEW MARKS
Coming off his stellar performance at Belmont, Dwight Wilson III added on to his career marks, setting a new career high with four assists in the Bobcats' victory over Cleveland State.
QUIET YET MIGHTY
Freshman guard Elmore James responded well in the Bobcats' game against Cleveland State.
James scored a career-high eight points, while going 3-of-4 from the field and hitting both of his free throws. James also added one steal and drew a foul in his nine minutes of action.
BROWN SETTING UP FOR CAREER YEAR
Senior guard Miles Brown is already on pace to set new marks in his fourth season in the Green and White.
After a solid game at Belmont, Brown was clutch against Cleveland State, scoring 14 points and going a perfect 6-of-6 from the line in the victory.

The Bobcats head back to The Mitten on Sunday, Nov. 20 when they head to Ann Arbor, Mich. to take on No. 20 Michigan. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Crisler Center. The game can be seen on the Big Ten network.
