Ohio Men’s Golf Wraps Up Play at The Elon Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C.-- Ohio's men's golf team finished up their third and final round today (Oct. 11), at The Elon Phoenix Invitational placing 15th overall. The Phoenix Invitational began on Monday morning (Oct. 10), consisting of three rounds and 54 holes over the course of two days. The Bobcats finished with an overall final score of 873 (+21).

The Bobcats posted a score of 291 in round one, 294 in round two, with their lowest score in round three with 288. All around, the Bobcats golfers shot well. Sophomore Sam Hogan shot a 213 (E) cumulative, freshman Will Kates shot a 216 (+3) and sophomore Matt Daulton posted a score of 222 (+9).

The final rankings for the Phoenix Invitational had Hogan in 30th overall with a score of 213 (E). Kates tied for 42nd, followed by Daulton tied for 67th, with junior Jared DeVille tied for 77th and junior Jack Neville tied for 91st overall.

The first-place golfer for the 2022 Phoenix Invitational was both Bronson Myers and Garrett Risner from Elon, both posting a very impressive score of -12, helping carry Elon to the first overall spot in the Phoenix Invitational with a total score of -25.

The Ohio men's golf team will head to Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday, October 29th for the Grandover Collegiate.
