MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ohio field hockey team (1-3, 1-3 MAC) defeated Ball State (3-3, 2-2 MAC), 2-1, in overtime on Saturday (March 20) afternoon for its first win of the season, inside the Briner Sports Complex.
Sophomore midfielder Lucy Davis (Kettering, Ohio) started the scoring for the Bobcats with her first goal of the season in the 13th minute. After the Cardinals tied the game in the fourth quarter, senior defender Leah Warren (Hamilton, New Zealand) won the game with her goal in the 66th minute in overtime.
Senior defender Claire Buckley (Powell, Ohio) and junior midfielder Ashley Willbur (Louisville, Kentucky) each picked up their first assists of the season in the win. Junior Nele Graner (Bonn, Germany) was stout in goal, with a save on nine shots faced.
The Bobcats will return to action for their first home game of 2021 on Friday (March 26) against Central Michigan. First touch is set for 7 p.m. at Pruitt Field.
