ANNAPOLIS, Md.-- The Ohio wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, Nov. 20 when they traveled to Annapolis, Maryland for the Navy Classic. The Bobcats finished the day second overall with 125.5 points.
Redshirt sophomore Jordan Slivka picked up the victory at 157 pounds, winning by decision, 2-0. Freshman Sal Perrine also won by decision, 12-6, in the 174 pound bracket, snagging the Bobcats' second victory of the day.
Other top results include redshirt sophomore Oscar Sanchez's 6-3 decision, landing him third in the 125 pound bracket. Redshirt senior Kyran Hagan also snagged third place at 141 pounds with a major decision, 13-2, over Edinboro's Gabe Willochell. Redshirt junior Colt Yinger placed fourth in 165 pounds due to a medical forfeit while Alec Hagan, a redshirt senior, placed fourth in the 149 pound bracket after hitting his match limit.Â
A 5-3 decision over the Citadel's Jake Rotunda secured fifth in the 133 pound bracket for redshirt junior Giovanni DiSabato. A 12-3 major decision placed sophomore Jordan Greer's fifth in the 197 pound bracket while freshman Zayne Lehman placed fifth in 184 pounds due to a medical forfeit by his opponent. Redshirt junior Jordan Earnest finished sixth in the 285 pound bracket with a 5-2 decision.Â
