Final Results
DAYTON, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team returned to action this week (Oct. 18-19), as they competed in the Dayton Flyer Invitational. The Bobcats finished in 4th place as a team, with a team score of 880 (+28). Individually,
Sam Hogan led the charge for Ohio, as the freshman finished in a tie for 7th place after shooting the best round of the tournament in the third round.
The first round of play saw the Bobcats finish in 7th place, as they shot a 305 as a team (+21).
Zach Mandry was the best scoring individual after the first 18, as he shot a 74 (+3) overall. The second round of the day for the team saw a nine-shot improvement, as Ohio finished with a team score of 296 (+12) in their second loop around the course.
Tanner Johnson and
Zach Crawford were the best individual scorers in the second round, as they both turned in a scorecard of 73 (+2).
The Bobcats made their push in their third and final round of the tournament, shooting a 279 as a team, good for -5 as a team. Ohio had two golfers shoot under par in the third round, with Mandry recording a 68 (-3) and Hogan turned in the best score of the entire tournament, carding a 65 (-6). With his strong second-day showing, Hogan moved from T-28th to his finishing position of T-7th (+2). Mandry finished in a tie for 13th place (+5) and Johnson was a third Bobcat in the top-20, as he finished T-20 (+8).
Ohio now will turn their attention to their spring schedule, with their first event scheduled for Feb. 13-15, as the Bobcats travel to Advance Golf Partners Collegiate held in Palm City, Florida.
