Ohio Cross Country Competes at Penn State National Open

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Penn State National Open on Friday (Oct. 15), hosted by Penn State. The men's team finished eighth overall in the 5.2 mile race, while the women placed 12^th overall in the 6000m race.

Finishing ninth, graduate student Josh Park (Amherst, Ohio) led the Bobcats with a time of 25:58.1. Graduate student Seth Gard (Eaton, Ohio) followed closely behind, clocking a time of 26:04.4 and placing 14^th. Sophomore Wendenson King (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) also placed in the top 50 for Ohio, finishing in 27:09.4.

Placing in the top 50 for the women's team was graduate student Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and senior Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio). Bowes edged out Bartolone by five milliseconds, putting her in 41^st with a time of 22:20.2. Bartolone placed 42^nd and finished in 22.20.7.

Up next, the Bobcats will head to Ypsilanti, Mich. for the Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Eastern Michigan.
