LEXINGTON, S.C. -- The Ohio baseball team (3-2) fell to Saint Louis (3-1), 7-2, on Friday evening at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium in Lexington, South Carolina.
Junior LHP Alex Kuster (Lake Orion, Mich.) tossed 3.0 innings of shutout baseball. Kuster struck out one batter and allowed just two runners to reach base. Freshman RHP Andrew Russell (Champion, Ohio) struck out one batter in 1.0 innings and did not allow a hit or run. Graduate transfer RHP Danny Brackman (Tampa, Fla.) did not allow an earned run and struck out three batters. Brackman allowed one unearned run to score and allowed three to reach base. One run scored while Brackman was pitching. Sophomore RHP Eamon Horwedel (Ann Arbor, Mich.) picked up his first loss of the year and fell to 0-1 after tossing 4.0 innings and allowing six earned runs.
Trevor Harris of Saint Louis earned the win.
Junior OF Sebastian Fabik (Lebanon, Ohio) had two RBI for Ohio. Redshirt freshman INF Michael Richarson (Cambridge, Md.), junior INF Treyben Funderburg (Beavercreek. Ohio) and junior OF Isaiah Peterson (Lincoln, Neb.) all had singles for Ohio.
Ohio will continue the series with Saint Louis on Saturday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
