ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Volleyball team will welcome three signees for the 2021 fall season, head coach Deane Webb announced Wednesday (Dec. 2). Caroline Clippard, Camille Libert and Makenna Schafer will all join the Bobcats.

"We are looking forward to welcoming this group of student-athletes to Athens in just a few months. I am excited to see the results of their work before they arrive and am especially excited to work with them and help them achieve their collegiate goals."

Caroline Clippard | Outside Hitter | Cincinnati, Ohio | Mercy McAuley High School | Tri-State Elite

  • Single season record holder at MMHS with 329 kills
  • Single-match record holder at MMHS with 32 kills
  • Division I All-Ohio Honorable Mention
  • First-team All-GGCL in 2020
  • Two-time Division I All-District
  • Three-time district champion

WEBB ON CLIPPARD:  "Caroline is already a physical player that provides great energy to her teams.  She jumps well and has a college-ready arm. As she continues working on ball control and back row skills, I believe she has a chance to be an outstanding MAC outside hitter."

Camille Libert | Middle Hitter | Jordan, Minnesota | Prior Lake High School | Northern Lights Volleyball Club

  • 2017 Minnesota State Finalist
  • Led PLHS in hitting percentage in 2019
  • 2020 national qualifier at Northern Lights Volleyball Club
  • Northern Lights Qualifier champion

WEBB ON LIBERT:  "I was impressed with Camille's lateral quickness for a young middle at her height, and she comes to us from an outstanding club. She is already a high skill player, and when she spends the time required to become more physical, she will be an outstanding middle."

Makenna Schafer | Opposite Hitter | Huron, Ohio | Huron High School | Cleveland Volleyball Company

  • Four-time national qualifier at Cleveland Volleyball Company
  • Has career 952 kills, 222 blocks and .346 hitting percentage at HHS
  • 2020 Ohio state champion
  • Four-time conference and sectional champion
  • Two-time First-team All-Ohio

WEBB ON SCHAFER:  "Makenna just won a state championship here in Ohio a couple of weeks ago, and winning matters. Leading a team at any level to their highest level of success is an important learned skill. I look forward to her bringing that mindset to our gym, getting stronger in the weight room, and helping us compete for championships."
