
Ohio Swimming & Diving Falls to Buffalo in Road Dual Meet

AMHERST, N.Y. -- The Ohio swimming & diving team (0-5, 0-3 MAC) fell to Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo (2-2, 2-1 MAC), 218-81, this afternoon in a dual meet at the Alumni Arena Pool and Natatorium.
Freshman Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) won the 100-yard backstroke for the Bobcats with a time of 57.33. She also turned in a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking a 52.95.
Junior Katherine Garrity (Eagan, Minn.) posted a pair of second-place finishes, finishing as the runner-up in both the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.03) and 1000-yard freestyle (10:09.13).
Junior Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) took second place in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:04.60 and third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.63. Freshman McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio) placed third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.13. Grau and Glass finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard individual medley, with Grau timing in at 2:07.76 and Glass recording a 2:08.97.
Senior Emma Lahtinen (Ylojarvi, Finland) finished third in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.52) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.71).
Freshman Grace Riddle (Canal Winchester, Ohio) rounded out the 12 top-three individual finishes for the Bobcats, placing third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.57.
Ohio's 'B' 200-yard freestyle relay team of Riddle, Fortman, freshman Madeline Marks (Bentonville, Ark.) and freshman Maya Conte (Brecksville, Ohio) combined for a second-place finish in 1:39.63.
Ohio will be back at home at the Ohio University Aquatic Center next Saturday (Jan. 25) as it hosts MAC foe Ball State at 1 p.m. ET.
