ATHENS -- The Ohio field hockey team (1-1) fell to #23 Boston University 4-1 in a Saturday night match under the lights at Pruitt Field.

For the second game in a row the Bobcats let the opposing team get on the board first. Boston's Ailsa Connolly snuck one past redshirt senior goalkeeper Sophia Boothby (Spotsylvania, Va.) after 2:35 passed in the first quarter. The Terriers scored another just three minutes later.

Ohio junior Jillian Shive (Lebanon, Ohio) made a nice play on a pass from redshirt sophomore Tayla Hansen to score her first goal of the season to cut the Terrier lead to one. Boston University scored two unanswered goals to close out the game.

In total, the Terriers outshot the Bobcats 19-4, getting 11 and two on goal respectively. Boston University also obtained the edge in penalty corners, 8-2. Boothby was able to stand tall and tie her career high with seven saves.

Ohio travels to Davidson to take on the Wildcats this upcoming Friday, Sept. 6. The Bobcats come back to Pruitt Field one week to the day of the Davidson match, taking on Lock Haven at 3 P.M.
