
Ohio Men's Golf Ties For Ninth At Wright State Invitational

SPRINGBORO, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team finished in a tie for ninth place with Butler at the Wright State Invitational with a total team score of 752 (+52). The Bobcats improved on a first-round 387 (+37) on Sunday (April 14) with a second-round 365 (+15) today at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Rainy conditions on Sunday shortened the tournament from 54 holes to 36.
Wittenberg won the Wright State Invitational with a total team score of 721 (+21), tallying round scores of 362 (+12) and 359 (+9).
Sophomore Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) was the top finisher for the Bobcats, tying for 22nd with a 147 (+7) with round scores of 74 (+4) and 73 (+3). Sophomore Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) tied for 27th with a 149 (+9). He improved on a first-round 77 (+7) with a second-round 72 (+2). Sophomore Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) carded a 150 (+10) after rounds of 76 (+6) and 74 (+4), tying him for 36th. Redshirt junior Michael Kenney (Kent, Ohio) tied for 44th with a 152 (+12). After shooting a 79 (+9) in the first round, he recorded a 73 (+3) in the second. Senior Ben Sattler finished in a tie for 70th with a 158 (+18) after rounds of 81 (+11) and 77 (+7).
Fort Wayne senior Zach Schroeder took home medalist honors at the Wright State Invitational with a 136 (-4). He followed up a first-round 67 (-3) with a second-round 69 (-1).
Ohio concluded its 2018-19 regular season schedule at the Wright State Invitational. The Bobcats will compete in the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championships April 26-28 at Club Walden in Aurora, Ohio.
