Ohio Field Hockey Falls To Ohio State 5-2

Columbus, Ohio. – Ohio field hockey couldn't hang on in their match up against the Ohio State Buckeyes taking a loss in today's match with a final score of 5-2.

The Bobcats gave up two goals in the first half but would score their first goal within a minute of the Buckeyes second. At the start of the second half, Ohio State would score quickly to extend their lead 3-1. The Buckeyes would score again making the score 4-1 before Ohio would get their last goal of the game. The Buckeyes scored one final time ending the game 5-2.

Ohio had two goals. The first by junior forward Brittany Keen (Perth, West Australia) assisted by senior forward Emma Eggleston (Houston, Texas).The second goal would come from red-shirt freshman midfielder Tayla Hansen (Levin, New Zealand). This would mark Keen's first goal of the season while Hansen scored her second goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Alex Pennington (Easton, Pa.) made two saves. Freshman goalkeeper Nele Graner (Bonn, Germany) would make an appearance in the second half and record five saves.

Ohio Field Hockey will stay on the road for their next match up. The Bobcats will meet up with conference opponent Longwood on Friday (Oct. 12) at 3 p.m. EST in Farmville, Virginia.
