After Longo drew a walk to reload the bases, Vakuda and Black then made it an 8-2 game in favor of the 'Cats when they both scored by way of a Notre Dame fielding error that put Rott on base.
• The Fighting Irish began to mount a rally in the home half of the seventh, scoring three runs on five hits.
