THE BASICS
The Ohio baseball team (4-6) dropped game one of a doubleheader to Wofford by a 6-3 margin and took game two by a 16-2 score on Saturday (March 5) at Russell C. King Field in Spartanburg, S.C.

The Bobcats' win in game two gives them a chance to split the series on Sunday. The Bobcats dropped the first game of the contest by a 5-3 margin on Friday (March 4).

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
• Senior center fielder Manny De Jesus (Caguas, Puerto Rico) went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI.
• Junior shortstop Ty Black (Waynesville, Ohio) was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI.
• Redshirt sophomore left-handed starting pitcher Gerry Salisbury (Brunswick, Ohio) got the start for Ohio, lasting 0.2 innings while allowing two earned runs with four walks.
• Sophomore righty Logan Jacik (Omaha, Ne.) pitched four innings for the Bobcats, permitting four runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout.
• Junior righthander Tom Colletti (Wheaton, Ill.) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, tallying five strikeouts while allowing three hits.
• Wofford sophomore third baseman Max McDougald went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and four RBI.
• Senior left fielder Demetrius Jennings was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
• Sophomore lefty Adam Scott picked up the win for Wofford, pitching seven innings while allowing two earned runs on five hits, two walks and eight strikeouts.
• Ohio started off the scoring as Black smacked a double to deep center to score De Jesus, who led off the game with a walk. 
• Sophomore catcher Cody Miller walked with the bases loaded, scoring senior second baseman Alec Paradowski to tie the game in the first inning. The Terriers would take the lead later in the frame when junior center fielder Kody Ruedisili grounded into a double play, scoring McDougald.
• Wofford took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second after a two-run single by McDougald scored Paradowski and Jennings.
• Ohio narrowed the Wofford lead to 4-2 in the top of the fifth as an infield single by De Jesus scored sophomore right fielder Tony Giannini (Carmel, Ind.).
• In the bottom of the sixth, the Terriers added a pair of runs off of another two-run single by McDougald that scored Paradowski and Jennings.
• De Jesus drove in his second run of the game in the top of the ninth, driving in junior shortstop Tyler Finkler (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) on a single.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2)
• De Jesus went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and five RBI.
• Freshman first baseman Rudy Rott (Holmen, Wisc.) went 4-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run scored and three RBI.
• Senior third baseman John Adryan (Delran, N.J.) was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI.
• Finkler was 5-for-6 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and an RBI.
• Senior right-handed starting pitcher Connor Sitz (Westerville, Ohio) started for the Bobcats, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing two earned runs on one hit with seven walks and four strikeouts.
• Redshirt sophomore righty Jake Roehn (Sandwich, Ill.) picked up the win for Ohio, pitching 2.2 innings of scoreless ball. He allowed two hits and two walks while recording two strikeouts.
• Wofford senior second baseman Alec Paradowski went 1-for-5 with a home run.
• McDougald was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks.
• Sophomore right-hander Grant Byers got the start for the Terriers, pitching 3.2 innings while allowing four earned runs on six hits and one walk with one strikeout.
• Paradowski led off the second game with a solo home run to right field. 
• Ohio answered in the top of the second when Finkler hit a double down the left field line, driving in junior left fielder Mitch Longo (Mayfield, Ohio), who'd reached on a double to left center.
• The Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in the third inning as a two-out single by Adryan drove in De Jesus.
• Ohio tacked on two more runs in the top of the fourth with a two-out double to right center by De Jesus drove in both redshirt junior designated hitter Nate Squires (Plain City, Ohio) and Finkler.
• After Rott led off the top of the fifth with a single, Adryan drove him in with a double to left to increase Ohio's lead to 5-1.
• The Terriers closed their deficit to three runs in the bottom half of the fifth when Miller induced a bases-loaded walk to drive in McDougald.
• Ohio would explode for four runs in the top of the sixth, with a no-out single by De Jesus bringing home junior right fielder Spencer Ibarra (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Squires. One batter later, Rott ripped a double down the right field line to score both De Jesus and Black to increase Ohio's lead to 9-2.
• The Bobcats tacked on a pair of runs in the top half of the seventh as a sacrifice fly by De Jesus drove home Finkler and a single by Rott brought home Ibarra, who reached on an error.
• Ohio scored five more runs in the top of the eighth as a single by Longo drove in redshirt senior catcher Cody Gaertner (Pittsburgh, Pa.). A two-run single by redshirt sophomore Michael Klein (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) brought home Finkler and freshman Devon Garcia (Bowling Green, Ohio). A fielder's choice scored Klein, followed by junior Conner Callery (Covington, Ky.) scoring on an infield hit by De Jesus.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
• Ohio recorded a season-high 23 hits and 16 runs.

Ohio closes out its four-game set against the Terriers on Sunday (March 6), playing the final game of the series at Russell C. King Field in Spartanburg, S.C. with game slated to start at 12 p.m ET.
