QUOTABLE
“I thought that both games in this tournament, we’ve looked as good as we’ve looked which is what you hope for as a coach, that you’re playing your best basketball at the end of the year. It’s ironic because I didn’t think we looked really good at the end of MAC Play, but something between then and now we’ve certainly picked up our intensity. There was a time that we couldn’t have won a basketball game shooting 17 percent from the three-point line. That speaks volumes to our ability to find other ways to score and to guard. I think we did a really nice job of guarding from start to finish tonight.” Head Coach
Bob Boldon
 on the tournament so far.

“She did a nice job, against some big athletes in there too. I thought she really did a nice job of getting the ball to the basket. We’ve played without KB down the stretch before and looked out of sorts, but I didn’t think that was the case tonight. Both Quiera and Yamonie did a good job of controlling the game and attacking and getting us good shots. All without relying on KB to bail us out of so many possessions.” Head Coach Bob Boldon on the Lampkins.

“I didn’t expect us to go to the NCAA’s last year, after our first year. But after last year I pretty much expect anything. I feel like we can do anything, we just have to stick to our principles and do what we are able to do.” Junior guard Quiera Lampkins on the progress the program has seen.

“It feels amazing. It’s a good accomplishment for our team just to really see where we’re at and what we can do. It feels great. I think everything is clicking right now, some of our shots aren’t falling but we’re finding other ways to score. All the girls stepped up as well and that didn’t happen in the beginning of the season or at the end, so I think we’re playing a lot better then we were.” Junior guard Yamonie Jenkins on the win and the progress of the team.

“I credit Ohio, I knew that obviously they’re a good team and if we got off to a slow start, which is what we did, it was tough to play from behind against them the whole night. I’m proud of our kids for the fight they showed but this a good team, they run good offense and they are very well coached. With the way that they play on offense, if you are way behind it’s going to be a problem.” Virginia Tech Head Coach Dennis Wolff on the loss to Ohio.
