Later in the inning, Cooper (Delaware, Ohio) would add to the Bobcat runs, hitting a homerun to rightfield, cutting the Buckeye lead to 8-3.

Ohio State added some insurance in the bottom of the frame, taking a 10-3 lead on a homerun to rightfield by Bayne.

Ohio got one run back in the top of the fifth inning when Amanda Dalton (Salem, Va.) led the inning off with a base hit and then advanced to second on an error by the leftfielder. Dalton would then score on a single to left center by Raven King (Alpine, Utah), cutting the Ohio State score to 10-4.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Ohio State would get two runs and take the game 12-4 in five innings.

At the plate, the Bobcats had eight hits. Bowlsbey went 2-for-2 with a triple and a double and Gebele was 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBIs. King and Cooper each added a hit and an RBI and Hutchinson and Dalton both record hits for the Bobcats.

In the circle, Lauren McClary (Pasadena, Texas) pitched one and a third innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits. Compston pitched three and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out two.
