Ohio Track & Field Places 11 On Academic All-MAC Indoor Team

CLEVELAND -- The Ohio track & field team placed 11 student-athletes on the 2015 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Indoor Team, as announced by the league office on Friday (April 17).

Junior Peyton Adkins (Gallipolis, Ohio), junior Maureen Dean (Sylvania, Ohio), junior Sarah Kaufman (Zanesville, Ohio), junior Stephanie Loshbough (Johnstown, Ohio), sophomore Olivia Mayfield (Beachwood, Ohio), sophomore Anna Michael (Lebanon, Ohio), junior Allison Roeth (Houston, Ohio), sophomore Emma Ryan (Vincent, Ohio), junior Kayla Scott (Canal Winchester, Ohio), junior Tessa Weigand (Akron, Ohio) and sophomore Hannah Wishart (Powell, Ohio) earned honors for the Bobcats.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

An Early Childhood/Coaching Education major with a 3.391 GPA, Adkins competed in six meets and had a career-best performance of 2:29.97 to place sixth in the 800-meter run at the Tom Wright Open. She also had a career-best time of 10:23.88 to place 11th in the 3000-meter run at the Youngstown State National Invitational.

A Bios Pre Professional major with a 3.700 GPA, Dean competed in four meets and ran a career-best time of 10:27.07 to place tenth in the 3000-meter run at the Ohio State Tune-Up.

A Health Services Administration/Business Administration major with a 3.732 GPA, Kaufman competed in four meets and posted a career-best time of 10:52.74 in the 3000-meter run at the Youngstown State National Invitational.

A Nursing major with a 3.402 GPA, Loshbough competed in four meets and recorded a career-best time of 5:30.53 to finish 12th in the mile at the Marshall Invitational and a career-best time of 10:54.15 to place 11th in the 3000-meter run at the Thundering Herd Invitational.

A Graphic Design major with a 3.675, Mayfield competed in seven meets and posted a career-best time of 8.13 seconds in the 60-meter run and a mark of 5.61 meters to place third in the long jump at the Youngstown State National Invitational.

A Pre Exercise Physiology major with a 3.810 GPA, Michael competed in five meets and recorded a career-best mark of 27.05 seconds in the 200-meter run at the Youngstown State National Invitational and a mark of 5.27 meters in the long jump at the Ohio State Tune-Up.

A Middle Childhood Math & Social Studies major with a 3.928 GPA, Roeth competed in five meets and posted a career-best mark in the mile in a time of 5:27.57 at the Youngstown State National Invitational. She recorded a career-best time of 10:46.99 to finish 11th in the 3000-meter run at the Tom Wright Open and had a career-best performance of 18:28.27 to place 11th in the 5000-meter run at the Thundering Herd Invitational.

A Pre Nursing major with a 3.341 GPA, Ryan competed in five meets and had a career-best mark of 16.29 meters to place ninth in the weight throw at Ohio State Tune-Up.

An Integrated Language Arts/English/Coaching Education major with a 3.874 GPA, Scott competed in four meets and posted a season-best performance of 10:29.19 to finish 11th in the 3000-meter run at the Ohio State Tune-Up and a season-best mark of 18:08.56 to place seventh in the 5000-meter run at the Thundering Herd Invitational.

An Accounting/East Asian Studies major with a 3.785 GPA, Weigand competed in five meets and recorded a career-best mark of 3:00.28 to place third in the 1000-meter run at the Youngstown State National Invitational and a career-best time of 5:15.23 to place third in the mile at the Tom Wright Classic.

An Economics major with a 3.785 GPA, Wishart competed in six meets and posted a career-best mark of 1:43.01 to place sixth in the 600-meter run at the Marshall vs. Ohio Dual and a career-best time of 5:29.61 to finish ninth in the mile at the Tom Wright Classic.
