NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Ohio baseball team (8-4) snapped a four-game losing streak by claiming both games of Saturday's doubleheader, 6-4 and 11-7, against The University of Illinois Chicago at Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tenn.

Game One

Manny De Jesus (Caguas, Puerto Rico) cracked a lead-off triple in the first for Ohio, followed by a sacrifice fly by Garrett Black (Lima, Ohio) to send him home.

An RBI single by Jake Madsen (Cincinnati, Ohio) tacked another Ohio run on the board in the third, sending Garrett Black across the plate.
A two-run homer off the bat of UIC's Jeff Boehm knotted the game at 2-2 in the third.

The Bobcats mirrored the Flames in the fourth, with Ty Black (Waynesville, Ohio) parking a two-run homer in left field to regain the Ohio lead.

Ohio added on two runs in the sixth, with an RBI-single by Ty Black sending Cody Gaertner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) over the plate. Ty Black continued home following an error by UIC's shortstop.

Another two-run homer by the Flames followed in the sixth, closing in on the Bobcats' lead.

Logan Cozart (New Philadelphia, Ohio) closed out the final 2.1 innings and earned the save for Ohio, striking out two UIC batters and solidifying the Bobcat's 6-4 victory.

On the game, Ohio batters recorded 12 hits over their 36 at bats and committed no errors. Ty Black hit 3-for-4 and accounted for two runs in the outing. De Jesus and Geartner both successfully stole bases and accounted for one run apiece. Geartner also went 2-for-5 in the first game of the evening.

Ohio starter Connor Sitz (Westerville, Ohio) was awarded the win, improving his record to 3-1. The righty tossed 6.2 innings in which he struck out four, walked two, and allowed seven hits and three earned runs.

Game Two

Ohio posted a nine-run eighth inning in their 11-7 comeback victory against UIC in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

The Bobcats were first on the board, with an RBI-single by Tyler Wells (Lexington, Ky.) sending De Jesus home.

The Flames grabbed the lead with a three-run third inning. They extended their advantage by posting two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, leading Ohio7-1 heading into the seventh.

A sac fly RBI by John Adryan (Delran, N.J.) sent Ty Black across the plate in the seventh, beginning Ohio's comeback momentum.

A nine-run eighth inning allowed Ohio to regain the lead, and ultimately defeat the Flames, 11-7. Adryan, Garrett Black (Lima, Ohio), Tyler Wells and Ty Black all recorded an RBI in the inning, while Kyle Dean (Athens, Ohio) and De Jesus hit two-RBI shots in the inning.

Ohio reliever Mason McWilliams (Belevue, Ohio) picked up the win for Ohio; He pitched 2.1 innings in which he allowed four hits, two earned runs and struck out three.

In the second game of the day, De Jesus, Tyler Wells and Ty Black all went 3-for-5. Adryan and Dean followed, going 2-for-4.

The Bobcats will close out the series with UIC tomorrow at 12 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.
