HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Mitch Longo (Mayfield, Ohio) and senior Tyler Wells (Lexington, Ky.) each tallied two hits for the Bobcats. Wells drove in two of Ohio's three runs while Longo scored two of them.
- Freshman southpaw Mason McWilliams (Belevue, Ohio) suffered the pitching loss for Ohio in his first collegiate start on the mound, falling to 1-2 on the season. He gave up five earned runs on nine hits and a walk. McWilliams struck out two in four frames.
- Sophomore right-hander Corey Wells (Lexington, Ky.) tossed a scoreless inning of relief for the Bobcats, striking out one while allowing two hits and a walk.
- Central Michigan pounded out 15 hits, with five Chippewas tallying multi-hit games. Junior Logan Regnier went 3-for-3 with a triple, drove in three runs and scored two. Senior Tyler Huntey and freshman Daniel Jipping each homered for one of their two hits for Central Michigan. Huntey plated a run and scored three while Jipping pushed across two runs and scored another. Sophomore Alex Borglin doubled for one of his two hits and scored a run.
- Freshman right-handed starting pitcher Pat Leatherman picked up the win for the Chippewas, improving to 3-0 on the season. He struck out four while giving up three earned runs on five hits and two walks.
