The Short Story: Senior guard Kiyanna Black led all players with 21 points as the Ohio women’s basketball team (4-2) led for the entirety of the game in their return to Athens, taking a 79-52 victory against IPFW (3-4) on Education Day on Thursday (Dec. 3).

How It Happened:

 Junior forward Jasmine Weatherspoon scored Ohio’s first basket as Ohio opened the game on an 8-0 run with field goals from four different Bobcats. 
- The Bobcats would continue to take it to the Mastodons in the first quarter, leading 27-10 after the opening 10 minutes. Ohio shot 65% in the first quarter while Black led all players with 10 points.
- IPFW rebounded in the second quarter, riding an 11-0 run to cut the Ohio lead to 29-22 with 5:07 remaining in the second quarter. 
- Ohio led IPFW 44-28 at halftime. 
- Black led Ohio offensively, scoring 16 points in the first half, going 6-of-7 from the field and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. 
- Quiera Lampkins added 10 points along with four rebounds and three assists. 
- Ohio shot 60 percent in the first half.
