COLUMBIA, Mo. â€" The 21^st-ranked Ohio Wrestling team fell to No. 8 Missouri 27-9 In Columbia, Mo., Sunday (Dec. 13), opening Mid-American Conference action.

“Missouri is a great team, we have to give them credit,” said head coach Joel Greenlee. “We aspire to be like them, we just have to go back to the wrestling room and keep working.”

Spartak Chino (Wheaton, Ill.), who came in ranked #18 in the national Intermat poll, defeated Missouri’s Luke Fortuna via 4-3 decision to improve his season record to 8-3.

Phil Wellington (Euclid, Ohio) also picked up a win by disqualification over #2 ranked J’den Cox after an illegal slam out of bounds. The two battled in last year’s 197 lb. title match at the MAC Championships, with Cox prevailing 3-1. Wellington improves his record to 11-1 on the season.

Cody Walters (Macedonia, Ohio) and Noah Forrider (Marysville, Ohio) each lost hard-fought 5-4 and 6-5 decisions respectively.

The Bobcats return to action this Friday (Dec. 18) on the road against Tennessee-Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tenn.
