The Short Story: The Ohio men's basketball team (4-2) rode a 25-point effort by redshirt sophomore guard Jaaron Simmons (Dayton, Ohio) and a career-high 15 rebound performance by junior forward Antonio Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) to its third double-digit win of the 2015-16 season -- an 85-70 victory over rival Marshall (0-4) at the Convocation Center on Tuesday (Dec. 1) in Athens, Ohio.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ohio beat Marshall by virtue of a 50.8 percent (30-of-59) shooting performance â€" including a 56.3 percent (18-of-32) in the second half. The Bobcats outrebounded the Herd 45-33. Ohio led the way in second chance points (12-6) and held a 12-4 advantage on fast break points.
• Simmons scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting to pair with six assists, five rebounds and two steals over 36 minutes of work. He converted seven of 14 free throw attempts.
• Campbell hauled in a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with seven points, two blocks and one steal in 24 minutes.
• Redshirt junior forward Kenny Kaminski (Medina, Ohio) scored 15 points and shot 4-of-9 -- including 2-of-4 from three â€" in 31 minutes. He also hauled in four rebounds and collected a steal.
• Redshirt senior forward Treg Setty (Maysville, Ky.) finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals in 26 minutes of work. He shot 4-of-9 from the field.
• Junior forward Wadly Mompremier (Miami, Fla.) contributed eight points and seven rebounds and added three blocks in 15 minutes of work off of the bench.
• Redshirt freshman guard C.J. Burks led Marshall with 20 points on 9-of-17 shooting. He also posted a steal.
• Senior forward James Kelly added 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes for the Herd.
• Marshall raced out to a 9-1 lead at the 16:21 mark, taking advantage of three early Bobcat turnovers. The Herd held on to the lead until the 1:15 mark of the first half, when Ohio tied the game at 34-all on  a layup by Simmons.
• With a pair of free throws by Simmons with one second remaining in the first half, Ohio and Marshall entered halftime knotted up at 36-all. Simmons and Kaminski led the Bobcats with nine points in the opening frame while Campbell hauled in a half-high 10 rebounds -- including five on the offensive end. Marshall guard C.J. Burks led all scorers in the first half with 12 points.
• After falling behind 40-36 in the opening minute of the second half, Ohio used a 26-8 run to grab its first lead of the game at the 18:07 mark and a 62-48 advantage with 10:03 remaining in the game.
• The Bobcats maintained a lead for the rest of the contest, extending their advantage to as much as 19 with 1:01 to go in the contest. Simmons tallied 10 points in the final 10:03 of the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
• The Bobcats are now 55-46 (.544) all-time against Marshall.
• Ohio has scored at least 80 points in five of its first six games in 2015-16. It took the Bobcats 16 games to score at least 80 in 2014-15.
• Simmons led Ohio in assists for the fifth game in a row -- his fifth-straight with at least five helpers. Simmons had double-digit points for the fifth time in six games and scored at least 20 for the third time this season.
• Campbell led Ohio in rebounding for the fifth game in a row. He's recorded double-digit rebounds 14 times in his career and three times this season.
• Kaminski posted double-digit points for the fifth time in six games and for the fourth game in a row.
• Setty finished in double figures in scoring for the fifth time in his Ohio career and second time this season.
• Mompremier has totaled at least three blocks in three of Ohio's six games this season.

Second-year head coach Saul Phillips on team's development: 
"I'm excited. The pieces are there. They are. We've got to be hungry to play better. We've got to look at our destination as being something that's further out there and we have to push ourselves to get there."

UP NEXT
Ohio hits the highway for the first of two-straight road games as the Bobcats visit St. Bonaventure on Saturday (Dec. 5) in Olean, N.Y. Tip time is slated for 4 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel.
