MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
AKRON, Ohio â€" The Ohio cross country teams competed at the Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday. The men’s team placed fifth overall while the women’s team took eighth.
Junior Ellen Isaac (Mansfield, Ohio) earned second-team All-MAC honors finishing eighth overall in the women’s 5K clocking a time of 21:19.2.
The men’s squad was led by junior Alex Wind (North Canton, Ohio) who placed 15th in the 8K race with a time of 25:14.4. Sophomore Brad Miller (Bellbrook, Ohio) finished just three places later in 18th at 25:26.8.
Next in was junior Matt Evans in 22nd at 25:32.3 followed by freshman Kyle Bussard (Germantown, Ohio) at 25:55.4 and senior Jerrod Genther (Kettering, Ohio) in 42nd place (26:04.4).
Freshman Zach Zimmerman (Pickerington, Ohio) placed 44th (26:04.8) while freshman Jacob Richards (Ashville, Ohio) was 50th (26:20.1) and senior Jake Gentile (Kettering, Ohio) was 59th (26:33.2) rounded out the competitors.
Freshman Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio) was second for the Bobcats finishing in 37th place clocking a time of 22:35.5 in the women’s 5K. Junior Peyton Adkins (Gallipolis, Ohio) was next in for the women’s squad at 22:33.4 finishing in 44th place just before sophomore Christina Seas (Coldwater, Ohio) in 45th at 23:34.3.
Senior Krista Roehlig (Green, Ohio) was next in in 47th place clocking a time of 22:37.0 while freshman Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) was 49th at 22:43.3.
Senior Tessa Weigand (Akron, Ohio) crossed in 58th place at 23:00.5 followed by sophomore Tara Tollett (Shadyside, Ohio) in 64th place (23:06.1), senior Allison Roeth (Piqua, Ohio) in 69th place (23:12.4) .
The Bobcats will travel to the NCAA Regional in Madison, Wis. on Nov. 13 to compete for a berth in the NCAA Championship.
