NORFOLK, Va. â€" Redshirt junior Phil Wellington (Euclid, Ohio) recorded his seventh-consecutive victory as the Ohio wrestling team (7-5, 3-4 MAC) fell to the Old Domminion Monarchs, 25-9, on Friday evening in the Ted Constat Center.
 
Old Dominion started strong, sweeping the first four weight classes beginning at the 125-class.
 
Redshirt junior Spartak Chino (Wheaton, Ill.) shattered the Monarch’s streak with a 8-6 decision against TC Warner at the 157-class. With the win, Chino improves his Mid-American Conference record to 3-4 and overall record to 14-9.
 
The Monarchs extended their lead at the 165-class, with Tristan Warner posting a decision against Ohio’s Harrison Hightower (Strongsville, Ohio).
 
Redshirt junior Andrew Romanchik (Independence, Ohio) earned his fourth-consecutive win at the 184-class, extending his overall record to 23-9 and MAC record to 5-2.
 
Following a pin by Old Dominion at the 184-class, Wellington solidified his seventh-consecutive win with a 7-6 decision against Kevin Beazley at 197. The redshirt junior remains undefeated in MAC competition, improving his overall record to 19-5.
 
Old Dominion claimed the heavyweight class to solidify their 25-9 victory.
