ATHENS, Ohio â€" The Ohio University women’s soccer fell to Buffalo 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Chessa Field in the second overtime.
Buffalo (6-2-1, 2-0-0 MAC) scored the game-winning goal in the 109th minute when Katie Roberts collected the ball and turned and fired to the right corner of the net. It was the fourth goal of the season for Roberts.
The Bobcats (4-6-0, 1-1-0 MAC) finished with four shots on goal and nine total shots. In winning eight corner kicks, Ohio gave themselves chances in front of the net, but the ball would not bounce the Bobcats’ way.
Freshman Allie Curry (Fairfield, Ohio) had a good chance in overtime as she struck from the right side and hit it just wide.
Sophomore Carly Manso (Vernon Hills, Ill.) led the Bobcats with two shots on goal.
Senior Nicole Amari (Veron Hills, Ill.) finished with four saves.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Oct. 3 against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo at 4 p.m. They then travel to Northern Illinois Sunday, Oct. 5 for a matchup with the Huskies at 1 p.m.
