HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior goalkeeper
Brittany Walker (Elizabethtown, Pa.) -- the reigning Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week -- held the Hoosiers scoreless throughout the first 35 minutes of play. She made two saves in 70 minutes in the cage, posting her fifth complete match of the 2014 season.
• Indiana junior Nicole Volgraf broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, cashing in on a scramble in front of the cage following a corner opportunity for the Hoosiers.
• Indiana outshot Ohio, 11-5. The Bobcats won the corner battle in the first half, 4-1, but Indiana countered with eight corner chances in the final 35 minutes against just one for Ohio.
• Redshirt senior
Lauryl Desch (Charlottesville, Va.) led the Bobcat offense with three shots on goal.
• Ohio's defense came up with three defensive saves -- including two by junior
Adele Sammons (Upminster, England) and another by Desch.
QUOTABLE
"It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we did a great job of pressuring them. In the second half, they came out and changed a little bit of their formation, and we didn't do a great job of adjusting in the second half." - 10th-year head coach Neil Macmillan
