ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University Men's Cross Country team's Kurt Steinmuller raced to a first place finish at the Miami Invitational Saturday morning. Steinmuller (Stonybrook, N.Y.) recorded a career-best 5k time of 14:46.72 in the event.
Ohio also placed three other runners in the top ten. Junior Jarrod Genther (Canal Winchester, Ohio) notched a third place finish in a mark of 15:09.89. Sophomore Michael McKean (Pataskala, Ohio) came in sixth place with a time of 15:14.22, while senior Chase Robinson placed ninth in a mark of 15:18.99.
The team competed in a 5K route in a non-scoring meet. The race also featured a team made up of Miami Track and Cross Country Alumni who were in town for their Alumni Weekend.
The `Cats will have six days before competing in the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational on Friday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
