BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Ohio University men's cross country team finished fourth out of eight teams at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational this evening.
The `Cats completed the 8k run with a team score of 94, just eight points behind third place East Tennessee State.
Junior Kurt Steinmuller (Stonybrook, N.Y.) posted a career-best 8k mark of 25:05.70 to pace the Bobcats and finish fourth in the race. There were 91 runners overall.
Junior Jake Gentile (Kettering, Ohio) also notched a career-best 8k time. His mark of 25:20.00 helped him finish 14th in the contest.
Florida State won the event in a team score of 33, while FSU junior Glen Yarham finished first overall in a time of 24:36.10.
Ohio will have two weeks to prepare for the next event. The All-Ohio Championship takes place in Cedarville, Ohio on Oct. 3. The race is set to start at 3 p.m.
