WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ohio University women's soccer team fell to Purdue, 2-0 at the Boilermaker Challenge Cup, today at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.

Purdue (1-1-0) took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute off a header by Erika Arkans. The Boilermakers added on in the 66th minute when Nichole Robertson scored to give Purdue the 2-0 lead and the win.

"The Ohio team that was on the field today was not the team that we had been throughout preseason and the last two games," head coach Aaron Rodgers said. "It was disappointing to finish the weekend off on a negative note."

The Bobcats registered nine shots, with redshirt sophomore Carly Manso accounting for six of them. Seniors Tonya Frasik and Liz Finley, and freshman Hannah Jaggers all had one shot apiece.

Senior starting goalie Nicole Amari allowed two goals and recorded 10 saves.

"Nicole [Amari] played well." Rodgers said. "We gave them a lot of opportunities and she was solid. Neither one of the goals she could do anything about, they were good execution on Purdue's part. That should give her a lot of confidence going into the rest of the season."

Freshman Allie Curry was named to the Boilermaker Challenge Cup All-Tournament Team.

"We have to look back and reorganize and take a look inside at who we are and who we want to be and be ready to play Wright State on the road Friday and Kentucky on Sunday," Rodgers said. "It's going to be two really hard games again."

The Bobcats (0-2-0) continue their four-game road trip when they head to Dayton, Ohio, on Friday, Aug. 29 to take on Wright State at 5 p.m. at Rinzler Student Sports Complex. On Sunday, Aug. 31, Ohio heads to Lexington, Ky., for a match-up with Kentucky. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m. at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.
