GULFPORT, Miss. - Sophomore pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey (Grove City, Ohio) limited No. 19 South Alabama (12-1) to just two hits in six innings of work, but the Ohio University softball team (12-2) fell, 3-0, in its opening game at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic on Friday (Feb. 28).

Dorsey fanned six en route to going the distance for the 'Cats in the circle.

The Jaguars plated all three of their runs in the third inning courtesy of a one-out solo home run, two walks and an Ohio error.

Dorsey kept South Alabama off the board for the remainder of the contest, forcing the Jaguars to strand runners in scoring position in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Junior Kaylin Clarke (North Royalton, Ohio) accounted for Ohio's only hit - a pinch-hit, two-out single in the sixth.

Ohio concludes its first day at the Gulf Coast Classic at 7 p.m. ET against Chattanooga.
