Short Story: The Ohio field hockey team (2-7, 1-1 MAC) dropped a 2-0 decision to Mid-American Conference archrival Miami in the annual 'Battle of the Bricks' match on Saturday (Oct. 4) at the Miami Field Hockey Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The RedHawks outshot the Bobcats, 9-3, and won the corner battle, 5-4.
• Ohio senior goalkeeper
Brittany Walker (Elizabethtown, Pa.) tallied three saves in 70 minutes of work in the cage.
• Miami broke through with the first goal of the contest in the 24th minute, as freshman forward Henni Otten capitalized off a redirect by senior back Gabby Goldach for her second goal of the 2014 season. Goldach's assist marked her second of the year.
• Senior back Shannon Regan made the score final in the 50th minute, scoring off a rebound for her first goal of the season.
• Otten led the match with three shots -- including two on goal.
• Miami sophomore goalkeeper Alysa Xavier recorded her first shutout of the year.
