ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio women's soccer team fell to Toledo 3-1 Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Chessa Field.
The Rockets (7-9-1, 4-5-0) struck first, taking advantage of an Ohio handball near the box when redshirt freshman Isabella Echeverri curled a free kick into the back of the net.
Echeverri added a second goal off a Rocket corner kick in the 59th minute and junior Geri Siudzinski tacked on a third shortly after to make the score 3-0.
The Bobcats (6-12-0, 3-7-0) closed the gap to 3-1 after sophomore Alexis Milesky (Plain City, Oh.) buried a penalty kick in the 85th minute. The goal was Milesky's team-leading fifth of the season.
The Bobcats finished with 15 shots, seven of them on goal, with Milesky leading the team with four shots.
The two Bobcat goalies combined for seven saves.
In a pregame ceremony, the Bobcats honored the careers of eight seniors who have contributed to the program over the last four years: Gabby Hausfeld (Cincinnati, Oh.), Liz Finley (Mason, Oh.), Annie Beard (Mason, Oh.), Nicole Amari (Vernon Hills, Il.), Rachel Fryan (Racine, Wisc.), Erin Feeney (Milton, Mass.), Tonya Frasik (Lebanon, Oh.) and Nicolle Varney (Medina, Oh.).
The Bobcats return to Chessa Field to end the regular season Thursday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. vs. Kent State.
