BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio women's soccer team lost to Bowling Green on Friday night, 2-1.
The Bobcats scored to take an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when freshman Megan Niebuhr (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored her second goal of the season off of a rebound from sophomore Alexis Milesky's (Plain City, Ohio) header attempt. Ohio (6-9-0, 3-4-0 MAC) held onto the advantage into halftime.
Bowling Green equalized in the 53rd minute when Madison Schupbach scored on a left-footed shot. The game-winner for the Falcons (3-11-0, 2-5-0 MAC) came in the 68th minute as Leah Runkle scored on an attempt from the right side in a one-on-one opportunity with Ohio goalie Nicole Amari (Vernon Hills, Ill.).
The Bobcats outshot the Falcons 27-20 and put 17 shots on goal during the game.
Sophomore Carly Manso (Vernon Hills, Ill.) led the way with five shot attempts, while Milesky and senior Liz Finley (Mason, Ohio) each put three shots on goal.
Amari finished with seven saves for Ohio.
The Bobcats are back in action on Sunday at Eastern Michigan. That game will get underway at 1 p.m.
