Bobcats Travel to Toledo for a Three-Game Set

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University baseball team (9-10) returns to the diamond at 3:05 p.m. on Friday for the first of a three-game Mid-American Conference matchup against Toledo at Scott Stadium.

NOTING THE BOBCATS
-Ohio's matchup with Toledo marks its first league game of the season.
-The Bobcats Earned Run Average of 2.81 is the best in the Mid-American Conference, entering this week.
-In his last three starts, senior Brent Choban has posted a .0.84 ERA and has logged 21.1 innings during that stretch.
-Ohio has six players which are batting .300-or better.
-The Bobcats are batting .317 as a team in their last five games and have outscored their opponents by a count of 34-14.
-Ohio is batting .283 as team with two outs.
-Ohio has collected 10-or-more hits in its last six of its last seven games.
-The Bobcats are 7-1 when leading after seven innings.
-Senior Jensen Painter leads the team in slugging percentage (.662), home runs (4), runs scored (16), RBI (17), doubles (10), total bases (47) and walks (14).
-With runners in scoring position, Painter is batting a team-best .450 (9-for-20).
-Jake Madsen leads the team with 29 hits on the year.
-Eleven of Madsen's hits have come with two outs.

-Junior captain Seth Streich leads the team with 27 strikeouts. Streich is coming off a 12-strikeout performance this past weekend against IPFW.
-The Bobcats have lost three games by just one run and three games by three runs.

SERIES INFORMATION - TOLEDO
Ohio will faceoff against Toledo for the 113th time in school history on Friday. Ohio leads the all-time series 62-50. The last time the two teams met was back in 2009 where the Bobcats claimed a 2-1 series victory over Toledo in Athens.

THE SCOUT ON TOLEDO
The Rockets begin MAC competition on the heels of a 3-2 victory over Oakland on Wednesday in its home opener. Senior CF Ben Hammer's RBI single in the ninth inning lifted Toledo to the one-run triumph over the Golden Grizzlies. Sophomore C James Miglin is pacing the squad with a .297 average (19-for-64), followed closely by senior INF Joe Corfman and senior OF Jeff Cola at .295 (23-for-78) and .290 (20-for-69), respectively. On the mound, the Rockets own a 4.43 ERA, the third-best mark in the MAC (rankings as of March 20). Toledo has stepped up its effort on the mound even further over the last six games (4-2 record), sporting a miniscule 1.78 ERA.
